Out and about

Went and saw Spiderman 3 just now: Opening night with a packed theatre. Very cool. Well worth the $18.00. A little hard to follow, ony because of the number of villains (3, counting Harry) and the desire to keep it around two hours. But definitely a thumbs up.

I love seeing these films with Staz. She was such a comics dork as a kid, so she knows all the exposition, all the character flaws, their motivations, etc. It's like having my own comics encyclopedia sitting next to me.

It felt good to get out, to go and have fun and lose yourself in a story. It felt good to be among people, even rowdy and obnoxious teenagers. We don't do that much anyway, and in the last few months, do it hardly ever at all. I hope that changes when the wedding stress is over and we can just get back to being us: just Mr. and Mrs.,sorry...Mz. Us

Gotta go look at chairs tomorrow. Place closes at noon. Looks like an early morning for us.

'Cause I think about these things

You ever wonder sometimes if the terrorists have a point...?

Thats a horrible thought, but what I saw today cements the notion that Americans are the laziest SOB's on earth. At the grocery store, someone pulled into a spot two spots further down from where I was parked as I started my car to leave. As I was leaving, I saw them back out, and pull into the spot I had just vacated. All that work to save 10 LOUSY STEPS. I was speechless.

In better news, we're getting tons of free stuff from Staz's mom's husband (stepdad? nah) A 19" monitor, with a burned in white patch, but hey, it's 19". Also, possibly a recently discarded 2Ghz processor computer. Quit laughing, it's twice as fast as our current one. Oh and did we mention $260.00 toward the wedding? That's $260.00 more than Staz's REAL dad. I plan to rectify this situation when we see him over memorial day. Wish me luck.

I'm so used to working for little companies that are perpetually on the ragged edge of disaster, limping from invoice to invoice. Working for a large, relatively stable company is an adjustment. I just booked a flight to Minnesota in August for a big meeting. After telling Staz this, she replied, 'So it's safe to say you'll still have a job in August?' I suppose it does...Weird...
