And boy is it gonna be close! Right now I'm playing triage with vendors and bills. 'Lets see, if I pay this one , then THIS one, they can't turn our power off until at least two weeks after we get back. And then theres this one. I'll stall them by sending them a nice , 'My car broke down and I'll pay you next week' letter, then blame the postal service for losing the bill. Cause, you know, we moved and I forgot to contact you to update my address. oops. Silly Me. Believe, me, I am a master at musical bills.
But, after all that, I think we'll be ok. I think we're both so sick of the hype, of the anticipation, of the stress. Let's just do it already so we can get back to normal. We've got a house to restore, cars to fix, animals to care for. We have jobs that are taking a backseat to this single day.
Totally unrelated segue: I have software training this week. It's in Cincinnati, actually closer to me than where I work, which means I can sleep in. But the good news stops there. It's learning Finite Element Analysis, a good thing to have on your resume to be sure, but a waste of time as far as I'm concerned. I've never put much faith in computer modeled stress and failure analysis. And it's usually so cumbersome, it takes LESS time to actually build a prototype and test it in the lab vs. generating a computer model. But it's company mandated, so there you go. It couldn't come at a worse time as I am trying to finish several new prototypes for a sales meeting in July, and my boss is out due to a family sickness.
These prototypes I'm making are for a project to be eventually made in China. They're telling me to get my passport ready. While the prospect of a trip to Asia is exciting, I know better. The Chinese factory is a long way froom ANYTHING cool. But we'll see. At the moment, I need $26.00 for a birth certificate so I can spend $45.00 to apply for a new passport....I don't have $26.00 and am not likely to have it anytime soon. See above...
Oh yeah. Did I mention that one thing I am NOT stressing about is actually being married to this woman. That is something I cannot wait to have happen and feel not the slightest doubt about. Figured that was worth mentioning.
